Processing the Application • THE STUDENT: • Complete and submit the colleges application either through commonapp.org or the college’s website • Submit essay, if applicable, and payment with your application • Send SAT directly to colleges through collegeboard.org and/or ACT scores through actstudent.org • If using Common App, match your Naviance account with your Common App account • Request transcripts and letters of recommendation on Naviance • Monitor the submission status of your materials • Wait for acceptances!
Processing the Application (cont’d) • PARENTS: • Create a calendar of deadlines with your child • Look over your child’s applications before submitting • Encourage your child to take the SAT in October or November • Fill out the FAFSA after October 1st • Celebrate acceptances, understand that declines happen, offer support and encouragement
Processing the Application (cont’d) • TEACHERS: • Writes your letter of recommendation • Completes Common App Teacher report • Uploads both to Naviance • SCHOOL COUNSELOR: • Writes a letter of recommendation, if necessary • Completes a Secondary School Report • Submits letters of recommendations, transcripts, and school reports electronically through Naviance

Applying to Rutgers • Apply on-line • Application deadline: November 1 (early); December 1 (regular) • No transcripts or recommendations • SRAR – Student Reported Academic Record • Request an “unofficial transcript” from your counselor
Applying to Rowan College at Gloucester County • Students attend one of the Priority Admissions Program information sessions on: Monday, November 14 or Friday, November 18 – held at Clearview • Students will take the Accuplacer test • SAT score (3-1-16 or later) of 530 Math and 480 EBRW = exemption • REGISTER!!! • NJ STARS program/Dual Enrollment agreements
Two-Year Vocational/Trade Schools • Local County College Programs • 1-2 Year Programs leading to professional licensure • Fields with high demand for positions/short supply of workers • See your school counselor for additional information re: vocational/trade school programs
College Visits • Fall of Senior Year is a perfect time to visit or even re-visit • Multiple Open House and Information Session opportunities • Consider e-mailing the admissions representative assigned to our region (can look up online) • Three excused college visit days – use them!
College Admissions Visits to CRHS • The following colleges have admissions representatives conducting information sessions at CRHS. • University of Delaware, Rowan University • Stockton University, TCNJ • George Mason University, Virginia Tech • Drexel University, Camden Co. College
Instant Decision Days (IDDs) • Admissions counselors conduct a brief interview and offer admission to the college on the spot • Students must complete the entire application process prior to the interview, including: • Complete application, send SAT/ACT scores, request transcripts, etc. • Sign up for the IDD on Naviance! • Schools participating this year are: Rider U., Widener U, and York College of PA.
Financial Aid • After October 1, 2016 at: www.fafsa.ed.gov • Financial Aid Night at Clearview: Thursday, October 13 7:00 pm in the Theatre • Contact the financial aid office of a specific college
NCAA Eligibility • Division I and II – http://web1.ncaa.org/ECWR2/NCAA_EMS/NCAA.jsp - NCAA Eligibility Center • If you are a prospective NCAA Division I and II student-athlete, make sure you are registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
Reminders/Dates… • Keep an eye on senior year grades • Finish/Re-visit colleges (in March/April) • Register and prepare for SAT (SAT Subject if applicable) and/or ACT • Check out Clearview’s Web-site/Naviance for up-to-date college information • Go to: www.clearviewregional.edu – “Guidance”: • Allow 2 weeks to process transcripts • October 13th– College Fair (over 125 colleges) in the RCGC Phys. Education Center – 6–8 pm
