Germany- Adolf Hitler • Turned the National Socialist German Worker’s Party into the Nazi party. • Used anger from the Treaty of Versailles to gain support. • Becomes dictator of Germany, turns them into a fascists state. • - Militaristic totalitarian state • - government controlled press, schools, religion • Scapegoats = Jews blamed for all of Germany’s misfortune - rounded up and put into concentration camps. • Used propaganda to “brainwash” the people • Defies Treaty of Versailles – builds up arm forces and expands east - Rhineland • - League of Nations protests but takes no action • “Europe will never act, They’ll just protest.
