  2. Who • Use “who” as the subject (at the beginning of the sentence) Example: Who works in the shop everyday? • Check it by replacing the underlined word with a person’s name.

  3. Whom • Use “whom” as the direct object (after the verb) Example: Whom do the customers like best? • Restate sentence in it’s proper order to check it. Do the customers like whom best? (comes after verb as direct object)

  4. Whose • Use “whose” to show ownership. Example: Whose paper is on the floor? • Use whose because you are asking who owns it.

  5. Try it out -Fill in the blank with the correct pronoun. (who, whose, or whom) • _____ sculptures attract the most attention? • _____ is the best story teller in the family? • _____ did you see at the market? • _____made the bench at the park? • _____decorations are in the window? • _____ will you hire as a helper?
