USMCC Backup Operations • Backup Options • Take advantage of in house redundancy • Operate NSOF USMCC remotely from World Weather Building (WWB) • Operate Offsite at Wallops, VA remotely from WWB • Move all operations to Wallops • Call on Cospas-Sarsat partners for support • CMCC (Canada) takes over our National responsibilities • AUMCC (Australia takes over our Nodal responsibilities
USMCC Backup Operations (1 of 2) • Failover to the on-site Test system has minimal to no delay • The Test system is configured the same as the Operational system • In case of a hardware failure the operational processes can be moved to the hardware on the Test system very quickly • Should be transparent to everyone outside. • Phone numbers stay the same • Communication addresses stay the same • Message sequence numbers stay the same • Abandon NSOF, but computer systems are still operating or outage at NSOF is expected to be short. • MCC Controllers move to World Weather building and operate NSOF MCC remotely. • Phone numbers change • You will receive a message reminding you of the new phone numbers • Communication addresses stay the same • Message sequence numbers stay the same
USMCC Backup Operations (2 of 2) • If necessary MCC controllers can bring up the Offsite MCC at Wallops, VA and operate it remotely. • Phone numbers stay the same as above (WWB numbers) • Communication addresses will change • Message sequence numbers will change • Alert sites will reform • Alert site numbers will change. • You will receive a message reminding you of the above • Operating Wallops remotely maybe used as a transition while USMCC staff deploys to Wallops. • Failover to the off-site at Wallops, VA • Phone numbers stay the change to Wallops numbers • Communication addresses will not change from above • Message sequence numbers will not change from above • Alert sites will continue • Alert site numbers will not change. • You will receive a message reminding you of the above
USMCC Backup Operations • Cospas-Sarsat partners take over USMCC responsibilities • CMCC will assume USMCC National responsibilities • Send Alert messages in SIT 185 format • Site numbers will change • Message sequence numbers will change • You will not receive data from US LUTs • AUMCC will assume Nodal responsibilities • Should have no impact on you
