  1. Classifying Quadrilaterals (Day 1) Thursday, May 03, 2012 We are learning to…classify quadrilaterals based on their side lengths and angle measurements.

  2. Vocabulary • Quadrilateral – Any four sided polygon • Examples: Trapezoid, Parallelogram, Rectangle, Rhombus, Square

  3. Quadrilaterals Parallelograms Trapezoids A four sided polygon in which both pairs of opposite sides are parallel. A quadrilateral that has one pair of opposite sides that are parallel Rhombus Rectangle A parallelogram that has 4 congruent sides. A parallelogram that has 4 right angles. Square A parallelogram with 4 right angles and 4 congruent sides.

  4. Quadrilateral Practice A square is a parallelogram that has 4 right angles which makes it a rectangle. True A parallelogram has two sets of parallel sides. A trapezoid has only one set of parallel sides. False A rectangle is a polygon with 4 sides which makes it a quadrilateral. True Try #4-10 on your own…raise your hand when you are done so you can start your homework assignment.
