College Bowl Game Challenge By Douglas Peterson, Emily Trainor, and Sara Babin
Advice Throughout our studies we have found a positive correlation to the team that has the ball the longest, scoring the most and winning. In South Carolina’s game against Florida State, S.C. had the ball for 26:32 minutes and scored only 17 points. Florida State on the other hand had the ball for 33:28 minutes and scored 26 points that caused them to beat USC.
Advice In finding this out in our study we have a few words of advice for USC. We realized that if South Carolina controlled the ball more, they could have come away with the win. To help boost USC’s record we feel they really need to have a longer time of possession. In order to accomplish this we have some tips to help out there game plan.
Tip 1 South Carolina needs to have less turnovers. Having less turnovers means they will have the ball longer and more chances to score.
Tip 2 On defense they need to have more 3 and outs (stop the other team on third downs.) This will give them the ball again for more chances to score with not a lot of the clock wasted.
Tip 3 On offense they need to get more first downs and drive the ball up the field in stead of getting held to a punt or a field goal attempt.
Final Statement We believe that if USC uses these tips of advice it will strengthen their record and they will get more wins.
