The Overall Picture • APS received 10914 referrals from July 2005 to June 2006. • 9097 assigned to investigate • 1196 referrals were similar or same allegations (H) already assigned to APS • 239 were new allegations on an existing case (P) • 382 referrals were not assigned for investigation because they were out of APS jurisdiction, there was not enough demographic information to locate the client or some other reason.

After Hours Hotline • The APS Hotline is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. During FY 2006, our after hours contractor, CRF, took a total of 1921 reports, consulted with APS on call standby worker, 189 times, and an APS Casemanager rolled out as an immediate response 4 times.

Financial Abuse by Others • Of the terminated cases: • 8.46% had a confirmed case of Financial Abuse • 15.57% had an inconclusive case of Financial Abuse • In addition to the confirmed and inconclusive financial abuse findings these cases also had an additional confirmed or inconclusive finding of physical abuse 8.43%, neglect 15.03%, and psychological abuse 26.28% at the same time. • 47.21% of the cases also had an additional finding of confirmed or inconclusive self-neglect.
