  2. Over the past few years immigration has been a hot topic in this country. Many people say the immigration system has broken down and changes are needed to be made. The proposed Immigration Reform Act will make sure our borders are strengthen. Here are some advantages that the new Immigration Reform Act will bring to our country. • One of the main advantages of instituting the new Immigration Reform Act will be making employers more accountable for workers they hire. With 11 million undocumented workers in the United States, the current immigration policies are failing the country. Certain actions will be taken towards employers for such things as deliberately hiring undocumented workers. Employers actions will be enforced with the issuing of fines and possibly jail time for any violations committed.

For all new workers you must present a valid driver's license, Social Security Card, and fill out Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 to employers before being hired to verify citizenship. Not only will this act protect employers but it also protects the workers. Making sure the workers have the proper safety in the workplace is what the Immigration Reform Act will bring to the table. • Our immigration system has been outdated and as America is constantly undergoing transformation, change is inevitable. Another advantage with the new Immigration Reform Act is a huge boost in the United States economy. The statistics show that our economy will get a increase by 1.4 trillion dollars and or deficit will have been reduced by a trillion dollars. These newly legalized workers will be able to spend in our economy by buying homes, starting their own businesses and supplying food for their families thus providing businesses with more customers.
