Example: • If you want to tell a friend to walk: • 1. The verb is CAMINAR • 2. Conjugate in the tú present tense CAMINAS • 3. Drop the S CAMINA • 4. The tú command for Walk! is ¡Camina!

Repaso… negative commands • To command someone NOT to do something (negative tú commands) • Conjugate the verb in the tú present tense. If the ending is AS, switch it to ES. If the ending is ES, switch it to AS. • If you want to tell a friend not to smoke: • 1. The verb is FUMAR • 2. Conjugate in the tú present tense FUMAS • 3. Switch the AS to ES FUMES • 4. Add the NO to make it negative ¡no fumes! • If you want to tell a friend not to run: • 1. the verb is CORRER • 2. Conjugate in the tú present tense CORRES • 3. Switch the ES to AS CORRAS • 4.
