  2. Key Competencies • Cultural Expression, pupils were given the opportunity to express their culture through drama • Interpersonal and Social Competence, pupils worked together to achieve a common goal

Learning Intentions • Children can listen to and re -tell a story using skills in literacy and expressive arts. • Children can research information independently using ICT. • Children are able to work in a team successfully, to organise and create a presentation. • Children will show that they can express and share what they have learned about their culture through drama. • Children are able to present clearly, confidently and audibly to an audience.

  4. Context and Activities • Children are introduced to the story of the life of Robert Burns through language lessons and personal research using ICT. • Children work as a class to create a play in a day about his life. Led by Visiting Specialist in drama they learnt about the life of Burns and rehearsed for their performance. • Children presented their play to other classes and parents at the end of the day. • The children then used the information learned to organise a whole school concert celebrating the life of Robert Burns on Burns’ Day.
