CLME+ Project: Sustainable Management of Caribbean & North Brazil Shelf Large Marine Ecosystems

The CLME+ Project aims to implement the Strategic Action Programme (SAP) for the sustainable management of the Caribbean and North Brazil Shelf Large Marine Ecosystems. It focuses on protection of the marine environment, sustainable fisheries, inter-sectoral coordination, ecosystem-based management, and monitoring progress. The project is co-financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Component 1: Strengthening and consolidating the institutional, policy and legal frameworks Component 2: Enhancing the capacity of key institutions and stakeholders to implement knowledge-based EBM/EAF Component 3: Piloting the implementation of EBM/EAF (replication of best practices, up-scaling of early results, demonstration of improved/alternative livelihoods,..)
