This report highlights the importance of conducting a gap analysis in ITU-T Study Group 20 (SG20) and encourages engagement with external entities. Clarification of TSAG Chair’s remarks on the creation of ITU-T SG20 • TSAG Chair’s remarks (TSAG Report June 2015) are interpretation of interventions at TSAG • Objective of gap analysis: • ITU-T SG20 to become aware of activities by external entities • To encourage engagement of such entities with ITU-T SG20 • Gap analysis very important but can be undertaken in parallel with other activities of ITU-T SG20 • JCA-IoT: -> parent group moved from TSAG to ITU-T SG20
IoT: Report on security and privacy to be submitted to TSAG Feb 2016 • “Both ITU-T SG17 (Security) and ITU-T SG20, and possibly others, were invited to contribute to the report, taking into account activities being undertaken by external entities on these subjects.” • SG17+SG20 are collaborating on the preparation: • A joint Correspondence Group CG-IoTSec between SG17 and SG20 under the leadership of both chairmen has been created October 2015
