Required Major Subjects English 7 World Cultures & Geography Mathematics Life Science Literacy Explorations/ Gifted Seminar (All major subjects meet everyday of the six day cycle.) PLEASE NOTE: May 4th, 2018 is the final deadline for student and/or parent initiated requests for course changes.

Course Leveling Expectations – English HP: • Rigorous and challenging texts are included in the curriculum – including a Shakespearean Play. • The writing program is demanding and designed to enhance already well-established writing skills. • Teachers move at an accelerated pace and expect students to complete reading and writing assignments independently. Honors: • The writing program is demanding and designed to develop and strengthen student writing in a variety of modes. • Teachers move at an accelerated pace and expect students to complete reading assignments independently.
Course Selection Process Your child’s 6th grade elementary teacher will: • Make level recommendations for: • English 7 • Pre-Algebra 7 or Algebra 1(placement based on the math rubric) • World Cultures and Geography • Life Science If you have any questions pertaining to your child’s levels, please contact your elementary school’s teacher or guidance counselor.

Verification Letter Verification letters to will be mailed with 2nd Trimester report cards.
