Why Gas Testing? • Transformer head space is inerted (made oxygen-free) using nitrogen • Internal failures cause electrical arcing between coils which causes the transformer oil to break down and produce flammable gases into the headspace (H2 typical) • The Eagle can be used to detect these gases as an early indication of problems
Features and Benefits • Detects Hydrogen in % LEL / % Vol / ppm • Built-in dual pump dilution sampling system • Durable long life catalytic bead sensor • Sample positive or negative pressure transformers • No need for sample bags or external dilution fitting • Calibration automatically compensates for dilution of sample • Accurately detects flammable gases in inert atmosphere
Features and Benefits • Audible and visual alarms • Powerful pump can draw from transformers with negative internal pressure • Able to operate from standard D size alkaline or Ni-Cad batteries • 30 hours operation on alkaline batteries • 18 hours operation on Ni-Cads
Eagle Unique Features • The dual pump design is a reliable trouble-free method to provide the necessary dilution of the sample with ambient air • This method (as opposed to traditional dilution fitting) is not sensitive to hose length, filter condition, or transformer internal pressures • Dilution is automatically compensated for in calibration, no need to multiply or calculate readings
