Overview • Yidan Prize, which gives out HK$60 million (around US$7.75 million) worth of awards annually, is divided into two categories: • Yidan Prize for Education Research recognizes outstanding research that amounts to significant contributions to education • Yidan Prize for Education Development recognizes innovative ideas that tackle pressing challenges in the field of education.
Overview Each Yidan Prize Laureate will receive a gold medal and HK$30 million (US$3.9 million) worth of awards, which include a cash prize of HK$15 million (US$1.9 million) and a project fund of HK$15 million.
Structure With an endowment of HK$2.5 billion (US$320 million), Yidan Prize is managed by Yidan Prize Foundation and governed by an independent trust committed to transparency and sustainability of the prize.

Nomination • Qualified nominators • Organizations • Government bodies, • non-government organizations, • professional associations • Individual thought leaders • Self-nominations • will be accepted in exceptional cases, with at least three referrals
Nomination • (2) Eligible nominees • Nominees could be either an individual or a working team of up to three people - teachers, researchers, academics, policymakers, and advocates, among others • Posthumous nominations would not be accepted • Directors, Judging Committee Members and Global Advisory Board Members are ineligible to nominate or be nominated • Nominees who are not awarded can be nominated again in future
