  27. The Decision In 1969, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled by 7—2 in favor of the Tinkers. Students do not shed their constitutional rights at the school house gate.

  36. The Decision The Supreme Court ruled 5—3 in support of school limits on school-sponsored publications. Spectrum was part of a school journalism course and paid for by the school. Younger students may not be old enough for the content. Identities of families may become known.
