  2. Objetivo • I can recognize and say the foods in Spanish. I can tell which foods I prefer.

  3. ALC 61 • Make two columns in the square. • Title one Las Américas • Title the other Europa • Read the article and then list 5 foods that came from Europa y 5 de lasAméricas

ALC 61 Leer • Think about how your meals would be different without corn, beans, squash, tomatoes, limes, avocados, chiles, peanuts, cashews, turkey, pineapples, yams, potatoes, vanilla, and chocolate. What do these foods have in common? They all had their origin in the Americas and were unknown in Europe until Columbus brought them there from his voyages in the fifteenth century. Today these foods are found in dishes in many countries.The product exchange benefited both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. The Europeans brought to the Americas a wide range of foods including chicken, pork, beef, milk, cheese, sugar, grapes, and grains such as wheat and barley.

  5. You have 8 minutes to finish your menu. • Cover page has a name • Cover page is colored. Inside • 5 categories in Spanish – breakfast, lunch and dinner must be 3 of the five. • 3 combo of 4 items under each meal • Ex. Huevos, tocino, manzana y leche….$3.75 • 4 items with the other two categories. • Include pricing

  6. Flash cards • Use your flash cards to review the food vocabulary. • Get in groups of three and compete to see who recognizes the foods and can say them in Spanish first.
