12/17/13 • Class Notes – Food Security • Food security: • Exists when you have access to enough safe&nutritiousfood to maintain a healthy and active life. • Hunger: • A feeling; body’s way of signaling that it is running short of food • Undernourishment: • A state of not eating enoughfood to sustain daily activities & normal bodily functions. • Malnutrition: • A state of not eating foods with enough nutritional value to sustain daily activities & normal bodily functions.
