What is a net? A net of a solid is a 2D plane figure that is formed by unfolding a solid.
Characteristics of Nets Nets of prisms consist of a row of rectangles, which represent the faces, and the shape of the bases on opposite sides of the row of rectangles. Nets of pyramids consist of the shape of the base in the middle with the triangular faces attached to it.
Characteristics of Other Nets Nets of cylinders are two circles, which represent the bases, on opposite sides of a rectangle. Nets of cones are a circle, which represents the base, attached to a semicircle.
