  2. Essential Functions of ETSU STEM Innovation Hub The Hub and Innovation Academy of Northeast Tennessee are designed to be co-dependent and to expand STEM education and boast student achievement. Support the success of the Platform School through: • STEM program planning • Teacher training and professional development • STEM Curriculum • Stakeholder network development

A Few More School Details… • School to open August 6, 2012 at former Brookside Elementary School building in Bloomingdale • Initially 6th & 7th grade, ~80 students per grade • Eventually 6th through 12th grade • Split between Kingsport City and Sullivan County students • Fully integrated academic curriculum • Problem-based, hands on learning • “Real life” projects with “real life” technical professionals involved • Open to any student expressing interest
