Things We Know………. • We Care awareness is high with producers • Producers able to state a We Care Principle remains low • Barn Worker Kits have been successful • Over 9,000 distributed in English and Spanish • We will continue to actively promote with producers with plenty of opportunities remaining.
On Going Challenges • Videos have and will continue to occur • Every time mishandling is demonstrated (not production practices), the credibility of We Care and PQA/TQA are challenged • Producers/Owners get it, but they are struggling to get it changed in the barn culture
Barn Culture Summit – Aug. 6-7 • We know there are many examples of producers/managers who have been able to create this culture • Bring them together with experts and create resources that could be used for delivery of the message • Utilize these folks to be resources for other producers/systems on how to change culture • Messages best delivered and heard when they come from other producers
Potential Delivery • Focus We Care Cost Shares on “Creating Barn Culture” programs • Utilize with systems during management retreats/regional meetings • Create a presentation on changing culture based on these producer experiences • Tie in other Checkoffresources (Employee Care Toolkit) to support the efforts
