Combat Rescue Officer Mission Statement CSAF mandate CORONA FALL 2000 / Message DTG 2000DEC08 1503 Combat Rescue Officers will: • lead and command combat rescue operations as direct combatants • provide Personnel Recovery (PR) expertise to command and battle staffs • to include survival, evasion, resistance and escape (SERE) programs • advocate and lead Pararescue and SERE specialists Provide candidates a list of research material in order to: • Understand the role of CRO, PJ, and SERE in personnel recovery • Utilize capability and limitations to ensure recovery of isolated personnel
