Region 11 Deck Replacements (3 Bridges)Design-Build Project (PIN X807.23; D900037)General Scope of Work • Superstructure and Substructure repairs • New concrete deck slab and wearing surface • Replace approach slabs • Replacement of all existing bridge deck features, including sidewalks, curbs, parapets, fencing and guiderails • Resurfacing of asphalt and new sidewalks and curbs at bridge approaches, including ADA curb ramps at intersections • Limited structural steel repair and/or replacement • Partial Painting of structural steel • Bearing replacement (with elastomeric)

Region 11 Deck Replacements (3 Bridges)Design-Build Project (PIN X807.23; D900037)Work Zone Traffic Control • Design Builder shall implement Work Zone Traffic Control and Closures Restrictions in accordance with Section 15 of Part 3 - Project Requirement and NYCDOT OCMC Stipulations included in Part 7 – Engineering Data. • Pedestrian traffic shall be maintained through the Project area at all times at all locations where pedestrian access currently exists.

Region 11 Deck Replacements (3 Bridges)Design-Build Project (PIN X807.23; D900037) Utility Coordination – Existing Utilities In accordance with Part 4 – Utility Requirements, the Design-Builder is responsible for: • Verifying utility facility locations • Identifying and resolving any conflicts not yet documented • Coordinating with utility owners for utility relocations • Providing stakeout and final layout of utility relocations • Protecting existing utilities • Cost to repair damages to utilities caused by the Design-Builder • Informing the Department of all meetings and correspondence with utility owners

Region 11 Deck Replacements (3 Bridges)Design-Build Project (PIN X807.23; D900037) Utility Inventory BIN 1065230 86th St. over Gowanus Expressway • Verizon has six (6) Multiple Tile Ducts (MTDs) under Bridge in bay 9 and nine (9) MTDs under Bridge in bay 11; • Con Ed (electric) has eight (8) 4 inch transite conduits supported by the deck under the Bridge in bay 1 and two (2) 4 inch transite conduits supported by the deck under the Bridge in bay 11; • National Grid (gas) has a 12 inch live Gas Main located under the Bridge in bay 8 • FDNY has one (1) Fire Alarm conduit under the Bridge in bay 11

Region 11 Deck Replacements (3 Bridges)Design-Build Project (PIN X807.23; D900037) Utility Inventory BIN 1066120 Randall Ave. over Throgs Neck Expway • Verizon has four (4) 3.5 inch iron pipe ducts encased in concrete under the Bridge in bay 2; • Con Ed (electric) has six (6) 4 inch transite conduits supported by the deck under the Bridge in bay 2; • Con Ed (gas) has an 8 inch gas main within a steel casing pipe located under the Bridge in bay 9; • FDNY has one (1) 4-wire conduit in the deck.

Region 11 Deck Replacements (3 Bridges)Design-Build Project (PIN X807.23; D900037) Utility Inventory: BIN 1076650 Lefferts Blvd. over Belt Parkway • Verizon has eight (8) 3.5 inch transite ducts located in the east side sidewalk; • Con Ed (electric) has two (2) 4 inch conduits located in the west side sidewalk; • FDNY has one (1) fire alarm cable in one duct located in the east side sidewalk; • There are also two unknown utilities on the Bridge.  Verification of owners and coordination to maintain unknown utilities during construction shall be required by the Design-Builder.

Region 11 Deck Replacements (3 Bridges)Design-Build Project (PIN X807.23; D900037) Utility Relocations to be Performed by Design-Builder - BIN 1065230 • Verizon (Telecommunications) • Protect and maintain the existing conduits and wiring under the bridge during construction, including six MTD’s in bay 9 and nine MTD’s in bay 11. • Furnish and install six 4-inch fiberglass ducts under the bridge supported on steel framing. The ducts are to be dead-ended (capped) at the bridge abutments.

Region 11 Deck Replacements (3 Bridges)Design-Build Project (PIN X807.23; D900037) Utility Relocations to be Performed by Design-Builder - BIN 1065230 • FDNY • Replace the existing 3-inch conduit under the bridge in bay 11 with a new 4-inch conduit with new supports and protect it during construction. • The Design-Builder is also responsible for the following: • One additional 4-inch conduit under the bridge, • Extension of the two 4-inch conduits off the bridge to the nearest manholes on either side. • Drag lines and 10 pair fire alarm cables, one in each conduit, from manhole to manhole. • Replacement of the existing FD post conduit with one new 4-inch PVC and 90 degree PVC elbow and 2 new 10 pair fire alarm cables from existing fire alarm post to existing FD manhole in Gatling Place

FDNY Communications Electricians will perform the live cable splicing (service transfer) of all new cables that are installed in the manholes and in the existing fire alarm post. • Notify the FDNY Facilities Plant Operations Engineering Group 72 hours prior to and upon completion of the proposed conduit, drag line and conductor installation work to allow for FDNY inspection and FDNY Electricians to transfer the live service (cable splice) in the manholes and in the existing fire alarm post.

Region 11 Deck Replacements (3 Bridges)Design-Build Project (PIN X807.23; D900037) Utility Relocations to be Performed by Design-Builder - BIN 1066120 • Verizon (Telecommunications) • Remove two existing empty 3 ½-inch iron pipe ducts encased in concrete and maintain and protect during construction the remaining two occupied ducts enclosed in a new single split steel duct. • Install eight 4-inch fiberglass ducts under the bridge and continue as eight 4-inch PVC ducts in the roadway dead-ended at the end of the approach slabs.

Region 11 Deck Replacements (3 Bridges)Design-Build Project (PIN X807.23; D900037) Utility Relocations to be Performed by Design-Builder - BIN 1076650 • Verizon (Telecommunications) • Remove the existing transite enclosure around the existing eight 3 ½-inch transite telephone ducts and re-enclose the cables in split PVC ducts within the sidewalk, which shall be protected during construction. • Install four 4-inch fiberglass ducts under the bridge (between abutments) supported on steel framing and continue as four 4-inch PVC ducts in the roadway dead-ended at the ends of the approach slabs.

The new ducts shall be supported on steel framing and located in the 2nd bay from the west fascia under the bridge. The new ducts shall also be capped at the ends of the approach slabs.
