  2. CREATE A TO-DO LIST • October 24, 2011 • Make a list of everything you have to do today. (should be at least 7 things) • Rank them in number order of priority. (1 is most important, 7 is lease important). • Estimate how long each will take. Write this beside each task. • Which tasks can you dovetail? (do at the same time)

Write it down • October 25, 2011 • Writing things down makes it easier; makes it so we will accomplish all of our tasks without forgetting. • Write down a list of all the things you need to accomplish this week. Think of all school assignments, projects, after school activities, home tasks/jobs. • Write down when each is due (by day) beside each task. Use your agenda!

Organization • October 26, 2011 • Write down what tips you can come up with to keep your classes, school work, and your study time organized. • What tools can you use? • What one thing could you do (you aren’t doing now) that if you did on a regular basis, would make a tremendous positive difference in your life? • Be prepared to share lists with the class. • (pg. 3 of 4)

Keys to Organization • Different colored binders or folders for each class. • Keep locker organized. • Have 3 hole punch to keep handouts together in binder. • Date your notes and handouts. • Have a space at home where you always study. • Use a calendar or electronic device to keep your due dates. • Keep a list (write things down) and prioritize tasks. • Plan study time. • Don’t wait until the last minute! • Pg. 4 of 4

Does it pile up? • Suggestion for when you are living on your own: • File Folders: • To be paid • To be filed • Car, Credit Cards, Utilities, Loans, Insurance, Phone, • Banking, Taxes, Receipts, Repairs, etc.

SABOTAGE • October 27, 2011 • Make a list of bad habits that are stealing your time, sabotaging your goals and preventing you from accomplishing tasks. • What makes you procrastinate? • Write down things you can do to eliminate each bad habit. • Remember, the easiest way to eliminate a bad habit is to replace it with a better habit.
