Recommendations of Task Team • Reinforce principles of oversight and accountability utilised by parliament to ensure governance and political management • Develop policy and frameworks • Assess and implement operational processes • Expand the technology and systems development • Provision of adequate facilities • Establishment of new mechanisms to be developed

  3. 1. Governance and Political Management • Review of Parliamentary Programme • Revise planning for Parliamentary Committees 2. Policy / Frameworks • Develop Regulatory Frameworks on Sectoral Parliament Reports, Oversight International Agreements, Executive Compliance, Joint reporting by committees and Referral of matters arising from reports of International Bodies • Develop Public Participation Model • Develop guidelines for interaction between MP’s and Ministers • Amendment of Rules

  4. 3. Operational Processes • Finalise and implement Best Practice Guide (Manual for Parliamentary Committees) 4. Technology and Systems Development • Develop budget vote tool • Implement system on reports and legislation monitoring • Develop mechanism for tracking house resolutions 5. Facilities • Review of infrastructure

  5. 6. Capacity (new mechanisms) • Establish Joint Parliamentary Oversight and Governance Assurance Committee • Establishment of Unit on Constitutional Institutions and other Statutory Bodies • Develop mechanism to enable reporting by State Institutions Supporting Constitutional Democracy
