FREP Purpose and Objectives • Assess the effectiveness of FRPA • Determine if practices are achieving objectives • Identify implementation issues • Implement continuous improvement
Ask the Right Questions Develop Indicators Implement Decisions FREP Continuous Improvement Cycle Make Decisions Collect Data Analyze & Make Recommendations
Riparian Monitoring Question Are riparian forestry and range practices effective in maintaining the structural integrity and functions of stream ecosystems and other aquatic resource features over both the short and long term?
Stand-level Biodiversity Question Is stand-level retention providing the range of habitat with the structural attributes understood as necessary for maintaining the species dependent on wildlife trees and CWD?
FREP Performance Measures 1. % of districts that collect site data (related to fish/riparian and biodiversity FRPA values) for resource stewardship monitoring under FREP. (100%) • % of FREP values with measurable indicators for evaluation. (5) • # of EE projects completed. (4-6)
FREP Budget • $ 4,000,000 ($3,500,000) • 15.0 FTEs in 2006 • 20.0 FTEs by 2008
