Centralized Ammunition Management • Joint Munitions Command (JMC) • Manages wholesale and retail ammunition stocks as a unified whole. • Allow JMC to manage ammunition at ASP’s until issued to units for training or operational load. • Reduces transportation costs. • Provides better distribution management. • Provides JMC with total asset visibility.

  4. Procedures Prior to CAM • ASP inventory based on historical usage data • Mass-based Logistics Concept-Stock Pile • USPFO Stock Control managed inventory levels. Visibility through DA Form 581 • Utilized AEPS requisition procedures

Procedures under CAM • Ammunition needs are visible through TAMIS-R. • Requirements are based on Calculator • JMC sends ASP monthly CAM Study • ASP reviews CAM Study, makes adjustments • ASP receives 90 day inventory Push based on forecasted requirements • ASP required to ship excess ammunition worldwide.

CAM Calculations • Calculator • Utilizing data, shortage calculated using following formula: • Due-ins + Assets – 90-day forecast = Plus or Minus (shortage) • Determines the CAM PUSH • ASP Reviews CAM Study monthly makes adjustments for NEW Storage, RDD, CAT I, CAT II to Tooele. • Calculator sorts by CALS and Non-CALS • Applies data from Overhead Fire Table • Generates RDD (6 weeks from 1st working day of month)

How does CAM affect training? • CAM push is determined through TAMIS-R forecasts. • Inventory based on projected requirements. • CAM directs excess to where there is a requirement. • Reduces flexibility for Ammunition based training. • Training and Operational Load ammunition must be forecasted.

  10. CADS/PADS TEC = OPL Submit a TAR Stock Control will request in AEPS (AOE) CADS/PADS, installed or uninstalled, must be accounted for on the property book in PBIC #8. L119-ALSE TEC = OPN Submit a TAR Ordered in the CAM Study AVIATION AMMUNITION

  11. Request CADS/PADS DA Form 581 (TAR) Include Tail # in remarks column 1-1 Exchange at ASP Turn in CADS/PADS CADS/PADS Submission Spreadsheet DA Form 581 T/I T/I in CC K Appointment with ASP ASP request disposition from Rock Island. CADS/PADS

  13. Forecast in TAMIS-R IAW UTARNG 350-1. Submit TAR IAW UTARNG 350-1. Review ASP SOP for Coordination times with Stock Control and ASP. Request for realistic training requirements. TIPS: DA Form 1687 Current Haz-Mat Certification on Mil Drivers License-348 DD 626 Convoy Clearance Vehicle requirements. TAMIS-R Pick up times-Call ASP Refer to AGCW web site for Ammunition tools. . Effective Ammo Draws

  14. Turn-in required five (5) days from the Training Event. DA Form 581’s must be completed prior to the Turn-in. Units required to provide enough personnel to accomplish the turn-in task. Turn in tasks include: Unloading Segregating by DODIC and lot number Inspecting Repacking Re-stenciling Containers Place in bunkers Both Live and Residue Effective Ammo Turn-in

  15. CAT I Ammunition • Requires unit pick up at TEAD. • Must have an armed escort. • Store in FASP in approved containers. • Requires two man rule for access. • 24 hour armed guard surveillance. • Category I • “Non-nuclear man portable missiles and rockets “in a ready to fire” configuration” • AT4, Stinger, Dragon, LAW, Viper, etc.
