Melete • Initial work on the Melete content authoring tool is complete. • There wasn’t sufficient time to integrate it into Sakai 2.0 (Testing and Gradebook were given priority). • Works as a standalone tool, currently. • Likely to be integrated for Sakai 2.1. SEPP Technical Presentation - June 2005
Content Hosting Service • Randall Embry of rSmart and IU has been moving an expanded version of Content Hosting from OSP to Sakai. • Ran out of time to get it into Sakai 2.0. • Includes some metadata improvements. • Biggest improvements are a re-write of WebDAV using WCK. SEPP Technical Presentation - June 2005
Repository Service Analysis • Mark Norton performed a preliminary analysis of the legacy Content Hosting service and the OKI Repository OSID against JSR-170. • Conclusion is that that (with well defined OBAs) JSR-170 is compatible with both. • JSR-170 could serve as the basis of a new Sakai Repository service (if desired). SEPP Technical Presentation - June 2005
To Do • Try to find in SEPP members what tools exist. (this was started in Toronto) • Let’s build a showcase of tools. • Create a reflective discussion on why we need certain tools. • Some use cases exist – we need more. • Prioritize development projects. • Think about services. • We need a workgroup to implement some of the Content Management requirements. SEPP Technical Presentation - June 2005
To Do Too! • Prioritize on use cases and practical implementations. A roadmap. • Extract practical things from use cases. • Jonathan Smith to lead Content Management design effort. • Jonathan Smith and Maggie Lynch will co-lead the C&A DG. SEPP Technical Presentation - June 2005
