  1. Why is Metallica Considered the God of Heavy Metal Music? The great thing about heavy metal is that it is just gets more and more intense. Metallica is the American heavy metal band by definition. Their albums and sound are always changing, evolving and improving. Just when you thought it couldn't get any more extreme, some new powerful rhythm blows your mind. The group's rapid tempos, instrumentals and powerful musicianship has made them one of the leaders of thrash metal. The fact that it has always been based in the powerful and intense city of California for most of its career just adds an edge to these heavy duty stars of heavy metal.
