Economic Development Council The EDC • A non-profit private-public partnership serving as Okaloosa County’s primary economic development organization committed to the continual growth and diversification of Okaloosa's economy and quality of life/place. • Governed by a Board of Directors • Operates by a set of bylaws and a code of ethics. • 4 full-time employees The EDC is assisted in accomplishing its objectives through the use of standing committees and ad hoc task forces. w w w . f l o r I d a – e d c . o r g

Economic Development Council Projects The EDC staff responds to inquiries each day, but only a few of these inquiries become active projects. The EDC receives leads from the state, Enterprise Florida (domestic and international); referrals from other outside sources; phone calls; electronically; self-generated from conferences, trade shows, etc. In order for a request for information to reach project status the following is required: • The request must be site specific • The client must have identified labor requirements, number of projected employees, types of positions, etc. • The client should have a capital investment estimate for the project • The client should have a timeline for evaluating sites and making a final decision w w w . f l o r I d a – e d c . o r g
Economic Development Council Confidentiality of Records According to Section 288.075 of the Florida Statutes, a company may request that any and all documents, records, reports, correspondence, conversations, applications, data or other sources of information concerning their business plans, interests, or intention to evaluate or locate in Florida be kept confidential. w w w . f l o r I d a – e d c . o r g
