Student Services Teams (cont.) • Counselors work collaboratively with the Deans’ Office, School Social Workers & Psychologists, the Nurse Office, Activities & Athletic Departments, Administrative Team, teachers, and families. • Your student’s counselor is your primary Oswego High School contact to access information about your student’s various needs and wants. • Yet, it is always recommended to contact individuals (e.g. teachers, coaches, club sponsors, etc.) to direct specific questions.

A Few School Policies • Schedule changes cannot be made for teacher preferences. • Schedule changes cannot be made for specific lunch period, PE class, or study hall preferences/ASP. • Students must pass five classes to be academically eligible to participate in extracurricular activities. • Late Arrival/Early Dismissal and parking are privileges only reserved for juniors and seniors. Wait….I Never Knew That Was Not Allowed.
I’m A First Time Parent Of A High School Student. What Should I Be Telling My Student To Do In School? • Freshmen Grades DO count. • Be social with your peers. • Get Involved: Music, Drama, Clubs, Sports, Student Activities. • Establish a balance between school work & fun. • Use your Student Handbook for assignments and to manage your time. • Talk to your teachers & ask for help. • Do not wait until the end of the semester to find out your grade in each class.
