The world we are living in today has improved a lot in the past few years and has invented many advanced levels in many fields like technology, automobiles and even in food. • As food is the basic need of every mankind, more attention and protection should be given to this field as it not only affects the present generation but also our future generations.
The main thing is many chemicals are used in the production of food and in such way it gets polluted. Another main cause for the scarcity of food is the polluted land and water which are not fit for cultivation and irrigation. • In the present scenario, many farmers from our country have committed suicide because of these reasons though climatic changes are also some of the issues. In normal cultivation, our farmer faces only loss and there is no sufficient yield also.
Hydroponics is a new method of cultivation in the field of agriculture as it gives great profit in less investment. • This is the method where the soil is not used for cultivation but the plants are grown through sufficient water supply to the roots where essential mineral and nutrients needed for the growth of the plants are mixed in the water irrigated to them.
The amount of water used in hydroponics is only one or two percent water used in normal soil agriculture. • Hydroponics farming method is a space saver and so hydroponics farming at home can also be practiced.
There is various hydroponics system design according to the mind set and the available equipment of the farmers. • Some would like to do a static solution culture where the roots of the plant are dipped in the nutrient solvent and the water is removed or changed in a particular period of time.
Most of the farmers are interested in doing hydroponics as a continuous flowing culture where the water flow equipment are connected together and the mineral untreated water is circulated to all the plants in a certain period of time. • In this method, water can be reused so the farmer should not get worried about water scarcity.
Hydroponics system in India is getting widely popular as many universities and agricultural colleges of India are coming forward to practice hydroponics both in colleges and in the homes of the students who are interested in farming. • These educational institutions are also conducting many awareness programs and workshops regarding hydroponics so that it can be useful for other also.
Recently some hydroponics center has given training to nearly a hundred farmers regarding hydroponics farming system and it has given a great success. • Hydroponics farming at home can be installed easily but the installation cost was high compared to an ordinary farming. In hydroponics method, the yielding is high so that one can retain the installation cost as soon.
That’s why this method is loved by the people who live in cities. • There are many hydroponics centers all over the country where hydroponics system design is demonstrated and the method is explained and clarified to the farmers.
In future farms, they have more well-experienced people in the field of hydroponics they can clarify the doubts and give proper advice regarding hydroponics farming system to the viewers and farmers. • Here they provide hydroponics kits and also possess a hydroponics garden where people usually spend more than one hour to see and know about the complete system.
