  3. i-Adjectives • あかるい light • くらい dark • あたらしい new • ふるい old • いい good • わるい bad • うるさい noisy

  4. i-Adjectives cont’d.. • おおきい big • ちいさい small • せまい small / narrow • ひろい spacious • かわいい cute • きたない dirty

  5. na-Adjectives • きれい clean • しずか quiet • すてき wonderful • べんり convenient

  6. Negative Adjectives 1. i-Adjectives: Drop the final i and add ku nai Eg: ookii ooki + ku nai desu おおきい く　ない　です。 ookikunai desu = not big おおきくないです。

  7. 2. na-Adjectives Just add ja nai desu じゃ　ない　です。 Eg: shizuka + ja nai desu shizuka ja nai desu = not quiet しずか　じゃ　ない　です。

  8. Put the adjectives into the negative form: i-Adjectives: • あかるい light • くらい dark • あたらしい new • ふるい old • いい good • わるい bad • うるさい noisy

  9. おおきい big • ちいさい small • せまい small / narrow • ひろい spacious • かわいい cute • きたない dirty/ untidy

  10. na-Adjectives: • きれい clean • しずか quiet • すてき wonderful • べんり convenient
