  3. The BACKGROUND • There was a vocabulary quiz in fourth block that Jason did not study for. So, Jason decided he would cheat. He looked at Mark’s test to get the answers. When Mark noticed, he turned and started talking to Jason. The teacher looked up and saw Mark turned towards Jason’s paper, and he thought Mark was cheating. The teacher looked at both students’ papers, and saw they were the same. The teacher said Mark was cheating, and gave him a referral to the office. The Fight: After class was over, Mark walked up to Jason and shoved him. He was mad that Jason did not confess to cheating off of Mark. Jason said since it was just a vocab quiz does it really matter? Mark slammed Jason into the locker. Soon after, many students from the class started to circle around and watched the fight. Jason tried to fight back, but Mark threw him to the ground and began punching him in the face. A nearby teacher heard the commotion, but at first could not see for all the people. The teacher made his way through the group of students and tried to break up the fight. Jason tried to fight back, but Mark was too strong. Jason’s face was bruised and his nose was bleeding. The teacher had to restrain Mark from doing further damage.
