  2. What Is a System? • A group of parts that work together to achieve a goal. • These parts are Input, Process, Output, Feedback • I.P.O.F

  3. RESOURCES • Anything that provides support or supplies.

  4. Resources Include • Anything that provides support or supplies. • People • Materials • Tools & Machines • Energy • Time • Capital • Information

  6. Input • Includes anything that is put into the system. • Information • People • Materials • Tools & Machines • Energy • Time • Capital

  7. Process The process includes all of the activities that need to take place for the system to give the expected result. • Designing the Product and its parts • Making the Parts • Assembling the parts • Management

  8. Output • The output includes everything that results when the input and process parts of the system go into effect. • Expected and Unexpected Outcomes • Desirable and Undesirable Outcomes

  9. Feedback • Feedback is information about output that is sent back to the system to help determine whether the system is doing what it is supposed to do. • It then becomes part of the inputs, creating a feedback loop.

INPUT • People to design and construct the CD player • Information gathered and used • Tools and machines to shape and form materials • Time Spent • Process • Designing player and its parts • Making parts • Assembling Parts • Managing the Process.
