What is fashion merchandising • The planning and promotion of sales by presenting a product to the right market at the proper time, by carrying out organized, skillful advertising, using attractive displays, etc. • Includes all the phases of planning, buying, and selling clothes and accessories. • Also known as retailers.

  3. What a fashion merchandiser does on a day-to-day basis • Put together very interesting, eye-catching displays. • Promote things by advertising. • Choose what to sell in the store. • Attend special events such as fashion shows. • Put in long hours at a time.

  4. Why fashion merchandising is so important to the fashion industry • The main role of merchandising is to link all the areas of fashion and manage the business. • The success of manufactures and designers really rest in the fashion merchandisers hands. • Without fashion merchandisers people in the fashion industry would not be as successful a they are.
