  2. “Doing the Dewey” with our friends This presentation is geared towards upper elementary through middle schools students in grades 4-8. This presentation is designed to be an introduction to who Melvil Dewey is and his creation of the Dewey Decimal System. Through this presentation the students will have the opportunity to navigate and explore the power point on their own, allowing for discovery and practice at each students individual pace. Each student will participate in a Pre and Post test to determine their level of understanding.

  5. What is the Dewey Decimal Classification System The Dewey Decimal Classification System is a system that organizes nonfiction books by subject matter. Books are assigned numbers from 001 to 999 and are arranged on the shelves by these numbers. This number is referred to as the books call number. The Dewey Decimal Classification System is the most widely used classification system in the world. Libraries in more than 135 countries use the Dewey Decimal Classification System and it has been translated into over thirty languages.
