  3. Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC): One Way a Media Specialist Organizes Books The DDC groups all knowledge into the ten classes above. In a media center, the media specialist will put every non-fiction book into one of these categories. In looking at your handout, you will see that within the ten main classes there are sub-classes. These sub-classes further organize print materials by putting them into smaller groups. Main class Sub-class
