DEFINITION: TEAM LEADER (Band 7) • NMC register, community setting, responsible for managing: • Health Visitors, Community Mental Health Nurses, District Nurses, Community Midwives, School Nurses, Community Children’s Nurses, Community Learning Disability Nurses, Community Based Specialist Nurses (e.g. heart failure, palliative care, respiratory, dementia, crisis response, home treatment, addictions) • NMC register, community setting, responsible for managing: • A multi-professional team ( e.g. Community Based Intermediate Care Teams)

Feedback • Overall positive feedback • Welcome the development of competency tool and regional job description • The role of team leaders being recognised as complex and demanding • Concerns over length of competency tool • Safeguarding a key issue • Would want the tool promoted and used
Competence Assessment Tool • It will help Team Leaders/potential Team leaders to identify the knowledge, skills and attitudes required for the role. • You can use the results to prepare for supervision/appraisal and identify areas that you would want to develop. • The Competence Assessment Tool can also help you to focus on areas for career development.
