DDG 51 Program StatusBaseline (BL) 9 New Construction (NC) IAMD • BL 9 NC IAMD DDG computer program for DDGs 113-116 • Developed from AEGIS Common Source Library (CSL) • Supports all Baselines associated with IAMD • Being developed from AEGIS Modernization, BL 9 IAMD DDG • BL 9 IAMD DDG certification date is Jun 2014 • Small delta in software to address configuration differences between AMOD & NC destroyers • Approximately 95% of BL 9 NC IAMD DDG PoR software development completed • BL 9 NC IAMD DDG certification scheduled for FY17 • DDG 113 AEGIS Weapon System currently undergoing testing at Production Test Center (PTC) in Moorestown, NJ
Shipyard Initiatives • Electrical Mockups: Allows later loadout of Electronic Equipment, which decreases likelihood of damage and improves accessibility • Support Tower: Provides access and craft offices, tool/rod rooms, and restrooms in vicinity of ship during erection • Machinery Packaging: Outfitting in shop vice on ship • Planning System Integration: Shift from Craft-centric to System-centric build plan for selected systems • Dimensional Management System: Improved Accuracy Control procedures and fixtures • Ultra Hall: Maximize Outfitting Indoors and support downstream critical path • Safer • More Efficient • Cost Effective • Goal: Move as Much Work Upstream as Possible 6

Summary • Four DDG 51 Restart ships under contract and starting fabrication • Shipbuilder proposals in review for FY13-17 MYP • Shipbuilders incentivized to improve production efficiency and reduce cost • Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) objective being fulfilled through evolutionary configuration baseline changes • Flight III Preliminary Design currently underway; ECP Development to follow 16
