Process • A computer guided saw cuts each block to required length • Steady stream of water based coolant and lube is ran over aluminum while the saw is cutting • Computer guided machine shapes blocks into correct manifold shape • Machine then shapes inside od manifold called runner ports
process • Worker then grinds off the rough edges with a hand grinder • Then they take manifolds to a flow testing machine which measures the airflow in each port of the manifold • Runners (heads) are checked for imperfections and filed down then cleaned will solvent • Then they weld the runners onto the ports
process • Once runners are welded on the worker closes up the manifold with front, back and top panels. He welds these • Then they mount the fuel rails and the injectors are mounted to the fuel rails • The throttle body is then mounted onto the front of the manifold
Feedback • A car is useless without a manifold • All the energy that makes the car go is made by the manifold • People need a manifold or the car will not go
