Definition/Types Of Bullying • Definition of bullying: One who is habitually cruel to smaller or weaker people. • Types Of Bullying: Cyber Bullying, Physical Bullying, Psychological Bullying, and Gossip Bullying.
Examples Of Bullying • Knocking books out of hands. • Gossiping. • Posting something hurtful bout’ someone on the internet.
Consequences Of Bullying For The Victim • Don’t want to come to school. • Depressed. • Suicide. • Counseling. • Hurting themselves
Consequences Of Bullying For The Bully Continued • Detention • Expelled • Suspension • Clean some of the school • Referral
Personal Example • One time a kid in my last school tried to bully me, I gave him 2 chances to leave me alone or I’m going to beat him up. He didn’t listen so I beat him up and I’m the one that got in trouble.
Interview With Student • Me: Have you ever been bullied before? • Marlon: Nope. • Me: Have You ever seen bullying. • Marlon: Yes. • Me: What kind of bullying was it? • Marlon: Somebody picking on me by my clothes. • Me: Thanks that’s all the information I needed.
Interview With Teacher • Me: Have you ever suspended a bully? • Teacher: Yes it was a very serious incident. • Me: Oh, have you ever been bullied throughout your childhood? • Teacher: Well, I Wouldn’t
What Can Students Do? • If they see students getting bullied they should do something about it, and or, report it. Also they should keep an eye out on people who might get bullied.
Examples From National News • Intensified by the inescapable reach of the internet bullying, has spun of control It allegedly triggered the suicides of Rutgers University freshman Tyler Clementi and Massachusetts high school student Phoebe Prince, two stories that rocketed the bullying epidemic into the national spotlight. An epidemic that causes 160,000 children a day to stay home from school because they are afraid of being bullied, according to the U.S. Department of Education.
What Can Adults Do? • They could be more cautious and make sure they know when someone is being bullied.
