What do I do if I am tardy? • Enter quietly • If it is an excused tardy such a pass from a teacher, put the pass in the basket • If it is an unexcused tardy, sign the tardy pad • tardy # 1, 2, 3 will be documented • tardy #4 will have lunch detention • tardy #5 will have a referral • Take your seat and begin work • It is up to you to get any make-up work after school. • Do not disturb any other student.
How do I know Mrs. Murray needs to talk? • She will stand at the front of the class with her hand raised.
Headers on your paper • Every paper you turn in should have a header. • It should look like this in the top right corner of your page. First and last name Period Date Page number and problems assigned
Homework • You will have homework every day except for Friday. • I will come around while you are working on your starter and check it. • Scoring: 100 if all done, 75 if mostly done, 50 if half done, 25 if a few done. • If you do not do your homework, you will have to give me a reason why. I will document your reason and you will receive a 0 grade. • Homework can not be made up unless you were absent; however, you may want to write down the answers for notebook tests. • Homework is due at the beginning of the class. ALWAYS correct your mistakes!
What do I do if I finish early? • First, you need to work for my class. That way I can help you if you need it. There will ALWAYS be some sort of project ongoing that you can work on. • You can work on homework from another class. • You can read a book.
What do I do if I am absent? • You will need to look at the board to see what we did that day. • On the starters, note your absence and the date. • You will need to get your notes and any missed worksheets from the notebook in the basket. • You will need to get the homework done and given to me to grade…5 days. • All tests can be made up before or after school.
Early Dismissal • Let me know when you enter the class • Pack up quietly • Leave at the designated time
Where do I turn in my papers? • All papers should be put in the white basket that matches to your period.
Leaving my room • I would like you to be a part of my class the entire time. • You have plenty of time to go to the restroom between classes. • If not, you may take a tardy to class, which will fall into the procedures we already discussed for tardies. • However, if you have an EMERGENCY, record it in your agenda and quietly leave the room.
Nurse • The nurse is there for emergency situations and for times when you are so sick that you need to go home. • Band-Aids are on the table. • If no one is available to take you home, there is not much reason to go to the nurse. • However, if you need to go to the nurse, write it in your agenda, let me sign it, take it with you. • I will not let you go to the nurse in the last 10 minutes of class.
Materials to bring to class • Book • Composition notebook • Calculator • Pencils • If your pencil breaks, go sharpen it. DO NOT INTERRUPT THE CLASS!
End of class • Do not pack your bags until the lesson is over. • Do not get up until I have told you that you can go. • I dismiss you…not the bell.
