  5. Reasons for caring and maintain tools. • To extend the lifespan of the tool • To prevent damage to tools or injury to persons using them • To save money • To reduce contamination of other plants or animals.

  6. Reasons for caring and maintain tools. • Increase efficiency: • Sharp tools work better • A good tool reduced loss in time and money • A properly stored tool will aid in easy of access.

  8. Materials needed: • A source of clean running water. • A brush or fabric to scour the tool surface • A cloth to dry the tool • Machine oil

  9. Then what happens? • STORAGE: • Store is a tool room.

  10. Safety First: Better to be safe than sorry! • Safety rules when handling tools and equipment. Do you remember them?
