Review From Last Week TRUE OR FALSE? • Samuel was born 1000 after Jesus was on earth. • Hannah promised God that if He would give her a baby boy, she would make sure to keep him all to herself and let him serve God only when he was old. • When Samuel was still just a very young boy, and he served God with Eli, the priest, in the temple. • The LORD called Samuel. And he answered, "Where am I?” (1 SAMUEL 3:4) • "Now the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, 'Samuel! Samuel!' And Samuel answered, 'Speak, for Your servant _________.' " 1 SAMUEL 3:9 • God spoke with Samuel and told him about what He would do to Eli and his children since Eli’s children were doing many good things and Eli didn’t care.

  3. Who was David? • Youngest of his brothers • Took care of the sheep for his father • Played the harp (wrote the psalms)

  4. David’s Psalms • David wrote songs to God, to praise God and also to tell God that He was sorry. • David used His gift to worship God. “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me” Psalm 137

  6. What lives inside me? • The spirit of God • So, I must walk in the Holy Spirit What does this mean? • Love God • Love each other • Be pure • Be Gods son and daughter

  7. What about ME? Acts 13:22  22‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’ • God looks at what is INSIDE not what is OUTSIDE • I have to have GOD inside my heart with me ALWAYS • I am strong because GOD is on MY side.
