In case you are wondering: What is ERWC? • This course was developed by the California State University system in an attempt to better prepare incoming students for the required university English course.
Your first homework assignment: • Go to the following website and access your EAP scores. • www.csuenglishsuccess.org • In the top right corner, under 12th graders, “find out your EAP status”. • Write down your scores (English and Math) and turn them into me at the beginning of class tomorrow for 25 points.
Don’t feel bad if you learn you didn’t pass. • In fall of 2010, the most recent year with data, only 32% of Oxnard High Students who took the test were proficient. • Statewide 50% of students score proficient. • Countywide 63% of students score proficient. • We need to step it up and we will do exactly that, in this class, this year.
