Learn how to calibrate pitch, valve, lift, and tilt sensors on your dozer for optimal performance. Step-by-step instructions provided for each calibration type.
E N D
Pitch Sensor Location • Mount the sensor on the blade • Allow the sensor to rotate 90 degrees for tilt calibration • In this graphic it is positioned in the normal operating position
Pitch Sensor Calibration • Required if AS400 is permanently installed on the machine to measure blade pitch • Park machine on level ground • Make sure the left mast is vertical (if possible) in the forward/aft direction • If it is not possible to make the left mast vertical, put the machine and blade in the normal working position • Press “Calibrate” to zero the pitch sensor.
Valve Calibration - Basics • Allows smooth automatic control • GCS900 monitors the valve movement and computes a response curve. • Can be done with and without GPS /ATS • Before starting the valve calibration you need to ensure that the machine measurements are entered into the CB430 • The valve calibration should be done with warm oil and at normal operating revs.
Lift Calibration • Must be in Manager mode • Setup / Installation Menu / Valve Calibration • Select “Lift” • A set of screens follow – perform the instructions
Calibration without GPS/ATS • The following screens appear if the GPS/ATS sensors are not detected or due to a low accuracy condition
Calibration with GPS/ATS • Similar screens to previous method without the requirement to measure blade height differences (GPS/ATS does this for you!)
Lift Calibration • Place in Auto • Press the Auto/Manual switch • System will then automatically move the blade and monitor the movement against the valve command
Tilt Calibration • Process is similar to the lift calibration • Tilt Calibration requires the AS400 sensor to be rotated 90 degrees to measure the blade tilt
