CARB Off-Road Compliance • What does this mean? • By the end of 2028 all off-road equipment must be replaced or eliminated. Snow removal and Low-use equipment not calculated. • The County must reduce or convert to tier 4, seven hundred horse power per year.
CARB Off-Road Compliance • What will be the financial requirement? • At today’s costs; It is estimated the Road Department will need to invest $9.4 million in new equipment over the next 10 year period. • $9.4 million will only meet CARB requirement and does not include replacement of the following: • Snow Removal vehicles • Dedicated Snow removal model years range from 1960 – 1986 • Low-Use status vehicles and equipment. • Update On-Road Fleet, that consists of: • Dump trucks and service trucks. • Currently 18 trucks are in Low-use status. • Pickups • Most are high mileage.
CARB Off-Road Compliance • Recommendation for compliance • Public Works will need to budget 1 million dollars per year for the next 10 period.
