  1. 2007 Women of Hope Business Camp Roberts Wesleyan College Teaching, encouraging, commissioning Our Vision: To infuse hope and excellence by teaching young women fundamental business and life skills so that they will have the courage to do great things in business and in life according to the gifts God has given them; To encourage these young women to return to their communities to make a positive difference at school, work, and home. 2005 Women of Hope Business Camp Roberts Wesleyan College February 21-25, 2005

  3. 2006 Women of Hope was a life changing event • Expanded Partnership with GMA H.S. • 10 high school 9-10th grader girls • Increased focus on marketing to be more synergistic with GMA mission • Camp is on the City of Rochester School District list of “at risk” preventative programs • 216 volunteer hours from 15 RWC students and 3 faculty/staff • 3 GMA students returned as jr. leaders • 5 community speakers • Partnered with Shear Ego, Pittsford • Evening devotions opened relationships; those relationships continue into 2007

  4. 2007 Women of Hope Expectations • Growing • size of camp doubling • Student participation increasing • Improve junior leader participation quality • Featuring jewelry business that can be started with little capital • Campers required to contribute investment capital of $15 • New relationships forming with area churches and local business • Relationship with One Maker; jewelry making micro enterprise in Afghanistan for women without economic support • Founder Jana Harp and project managers will attend camp • Curriculum being developed so Jana can teach Afghani women • Applied for Women’s Foundation of Genesee Valley but was not accepted. Looking for acceptance next year

  5. 2007 Women of Hope Daily Schedule Summary • Arrive Sunday, Feb. 18th • Welcome party and team building activities • Monday • Classes on personal finance, business ethics, and marketing • Dress for success fashion show in evening • Tuesday • Tour Creative Presence • Market research • Making jewelry • Peer Pressure talk in evening • Wednesday • Intro to business, accounting and ethics • Classes on getting ready for first job, college, entrepreneurship • Talent show in evening • Thursday • Virtual Store in ESR (campus invited) • Closing ceremony in the evening
