Assessing what you find • How important is it that the info is recent? • Who published the work? (UP/govt. vs. independent) • What are the affiliations of the author? (Institutions, degrees, previous work) • Who is the intended audience? • Does it seem to support one position in a biased manner? • Does it acknowledge sources (have a bib)?
Assessing what you find cont. • Do other web sites point to this site? • Is it a well known organization? • It is clear who established and maintains the site. • Includes information on when it was last updated. • Are there errors in the information?
